One scale for the dose and the yield

The IKAPE V1 is a rechargeable espresso scale with auto tare and a built-in timer. It weighs from 0.3 g to 2000 g in 0.1 g steps. Three modes cover plain weighing, filter brewing by ratio and espresso, where the scale times the shot and weighs the liquid in the cup.

Three modes

Normal: weight and elapsed time, for dosing beans and general weighing.
M1, filter brewing: shows the coffee-to-water ratio and the weight of the coffee while the water goes in.
M2, espresso: shows the extraction time and the weight of the liquid in the cup.

Reading down to 0.1 g

The range runs from 0.3 g to 2000 g in 0.1 g steps. An 18 g dose, a 36 g yield and a litre of brew water all fall inside it, so the same scale works under the portafilter and under a dripper. The tare is automatic, and the timer runs on the same display as the weight.

How to use it

Charge it, then set it on a flat, dry surface with the silicone mat in place.
Switch on and select the mode before loading the platform.
Put the cup or the portafilter on the mat and tare.
Start the shot or the pour and read weight and time together.
Lift the mat off to wipe it, and dry the platform before storing.

Materials and care

IKAPE describes the silicone mat as insulating, to protect your coffee accessories, and as waterproof and non-slip; it lifts off and is easy to clean. The base of the scale is non-slip as well. Wipe the body with a damp cloth and do not rinse it under a tap.

Keep grit and dried coffee off the platform, because anything trapped under it can make the reading drift. Recharge the scale before the battery runs flat, and do not store it empty.
