1. Why Black Tamp exists

IKAPE makes the small metal things that decide how an espresso turns out: tampers, distributors, WDT tools, baskets and puck screens, portafilters, dosing funnels, knock boxes, stands and scales. In Europe they were awkward to buy. You ordered from far away, waited without knowing where the parcel was, and then a courier asked you for import VAT and a handling fee at the door. And the size was often a guess, because a listing said 54 mm while the machine wanted 53.3.

We built Black Tamp to remove those four problems. You know who sells to you (the imprint names the company), EU deliveries are sent with the import taxes prepaid, the shipping cost starts at a fixed rate per country and the checkout shows the exact amount before you pay, and every product says which basket size it is made for.

2. What we sell

Espresso tools of two kinds: the Black Tamp tools, which we make ourselves, and selected IKAPE products. We do not make the IKAPE products: IKAPE makes them, and the product page names the maker. For delivery within the EU the parcel is sent with the import taxes prepaid.

The catalogue covers tampers and distributors, WDT tools, dosing funnels and cups, bottomless portafilters, baskets and puck screens, knock boxes and storage, stands and organizers, scales, cups and glassware, milk pitchers, grinders, kettles and brewing gear, portable and manual espresso makers, cleaning tools and sets. We do not sell coffee beans.

3. How we ship

Shipping is set by the destination country: from $5.00 to the United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Austria and Poland, from $25.00 to Brazil and Mexico, and from $22.00 to countries without their own rate. Some items ship at their own rate because of their size or weight; the checkout shows the exact cost in the currency you shop in. Orders are picked and packed in 2 days, and the delivery time then depends on the country. Parcels to the EU, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada are sent with the import taxes prepaid, and prices for the United Kingdom include UK VAT, for orders with goods worth up to £135 excluding VAT; in rare cases a local fee or tax may still be charged on delivery. 4. Support in seven languages

The shop, the product descriptions and our answers exist in English, German, Dutch, French, Italian, Spanish and Polish, and you can switch language at any point without losing your cart. Write to [email protected] in any of the seven and we reply in the same one, within 1 business day.

5. What we hold ourselves to

Exact sizing

Every product says which basket size it is made for, and where a number is a fit rather than a label, such as 53.3 mm inside a 54 mm basket, we say both. The size guide shows you how to measure your own machine in half a minute. The compatibility chart lists the size of every tool by machine.

Honest listings

Descriptions are rewritten from what the maker states, and a specification we cannot confirm is left out rather than repeated. If a compatibility claim is still open, the product page says so instead of hiding it.

Clear prices

For delivery within the EU and to the United Kingdom, the price you see includes VAT and the shipping is added. Parcels to these countries, the United States and Canada are sent with the import taxes prepaid. To other countries, duties, taxes or clearance fees set by the destination country may apply. If you change your mind you have 14 days to withdraw, and every product carries the legal guarantee that EU consumer law provides, at least two years.
