A place for the Stagg lid

When you fill or check a Fellow Stagg EKG, the lid has to go somewhere. Laid on the counter, it leaves a wet ring. This stand gives the lid its own place: right on the kettle, upright, with the drips running back inside.

Lid up, drips back in

The stand holds the lid at 56° from horizontal, right above the opening. Condensation on the underside of the lid runs down and falls back into the kettle, not onto the counter.

Sits on the rim

A 89 mm ring rests on the kettle rim, the same way the lid does. The centre of the ring stays open, so steam escapes freely while the lid is off.

Works on the counter too

Take the stand off the kettle and it stands on its own. The lid rests upright at the same 56°, off the counter and away from crumbs and coffee grounds.

Questions before you buy

Does it fit the Stagg EKG Pro and the Corvo EKG? Yes. It fits the Fellow Stagg EKG, the Stagg EKG Pro and the Corvo EKG.
Will the lid drip on the counter? Not while the stand sits on the kettle: the lid leans over the opening, so drips fall back inside.
Why ABS and not PLA? The stand sits in the steam above hot water. ABS keeps its shape there, where PLA and PETG soften.

How to use it

Set the ring on the rim of the open kettle.
Lift the lid off and lay it in the stand, so it leans back at 56° over the opening.
When you are done, put the lid back on the kettle and lift the stand off.
To use it on the counter, set the stand down on its ring and lay the lid in it the same way.

Materials and care

The stand is 3D printed in black ABS with 4 walls, 40 % gyroid infill and 0.16 mm layers. ABS keeps its shape next to hot steam, where PLA and PETG soften. Like any 3D printed part, it shows fine layer lines on the surface. Wash it by hand. It is not dishwasher safe.
