An ABS caddy for the puck-prep tools

The IKAPE 7-in-1 is an espresso tool organizer moulded in ABS. IKAPE states that its internal compartments take a 51–58 mm tamper, a distributor, a portafilter basket and puck screens, and the portafilter has a seat of its own. It comes in black or white.

Seven openings

In IKAPE's photos the caddy has two round wells of 59.6 mm for the tamper and the distributor, two 25 mm holes, two slots 52 mm long and the portafilter seat. It measures 157 × 157 mm across the top, 164 × 164 mm at the base and 84 mm high.

A portafilter seat for 51 to 58 mm

As supplied, the portafilter seat takes 51 and 54 mm portafilters. For a 58 mm portafilter, remove the adjusting nut in the portafilter hole and take out the inner card. In IKAPE's photos the seat opening is 62 mm across with the insert in place and 72 mm without it.

How to use it

Check the size of your portafilter, and remove the adjusting nut and the inner card if it is 58 mm.
Stand the caddy next to the grinder.
Put each tool in its compartment.
Brush out loose grounds when they build up in the seats.

Materials and care

The caddy is ABS plastic, which IKAPE describes as lightweight and easy to handle. Wipe it with a damp cloth and a little washing-up liquid, and dry the seats before the tools go back in. Keep it away from boiling water, solvents and the dishwasher.
