Everything between the grinder and the group head
This puck prep set covers dosing, levelling and tamping in one order, in one diameter and one colour. It brings together the V3 calibrated tamper, a gravity distributor, a magnetic dosing funnel and a silicone tamper mat to work on.
What is in the set
- V3 calibrated tamper: compresses the levelled bed before the shot.
- Gravity distributor: levels the grounds before you tamp.
- Magnetic dosing funnel: a magnetic funnel for dosing into the basket.
- Silicone tamper mat: IKAPE states that its flat surface has room for the tamper, the distributor, a WDT tool, the portafilter and other accessories.

How to use it
- Lay the mat on the worktop and rest the portafilter on it.
- Put the funnel on the basket, grind the dose into it, then lift it off.
- Level the bed with the distributor, turning it two or three times.
- Tamp straight down with the V3 tamper, then lift it off without twisting.
Materials and care
IKAPE states that the tools are made of food-grade stainless steel and aluminium alloy. It describes the mat as silicone, durable and easy to clean.
Wash the mat in warm water and let it dry flat. Wipe the metal tools with a damp cloth and do not soak them. Rinse the funnel when grounds cake on it, and dry it before the next shot.
