IKAPE Barista Bar Towels (30 x 30 and 30 x 70 cm)

Microfibre cloths for the espresso bar

IKAPE's barista towels are soft microfibre cloths of 100% polyester for cleaning around the espresso machine. IKAPE states that the ultra-fine fibre, woven at a low fibre density, sheds no lint, captures dust and removes milk residue and other stains quickly. Each cloth has a waffle weave and a sewn IKAPE label.

Water absorption

IKAPE describes the towel as soft and smooth, and states that it absorbs water well and quickly dries the water left on your coffee equipment. With a pair, you can keep one cloth for the steam wand and a second one for the portafilter and the bench, so milk stays off the coffee side of the bar.

Choose the right size

30 x 30 cm: the square cloth, shown in IKAPE's photos with a hanging loop at one corner. A handy size for the steam wand, the portafilter and the drip tray.
30 x 70 cm: the long cloth, large enough to wipe down a whole bench.

Both sizes come in blue, dark grey and white, singly or in pairs.

How to use it

Keep one damp cloth for the steam wand and wipe the wand right after every jug.
Keep a second cloth dry for the portafilter, the basket and the bench.
Rinse the milk cloth in hot water at the end of each session and hang it up to dry.
Swap both cloths for clean ones daily if you make milk drinks.

Materials and care

The cloths are 100% polyester microfibre with sewn edges. Wash them apart from cotton towels, because cotton lint clings to microfibre. Leave out fabric softener as well: it coats the fibres and makes the cloth less absorbent.
