An 8-in-1 station with its own knock box
This is a walnut knock box and organizer in one body. IKAPE calls it 8-in-1: it stores an espresso tamper, a coffee distributor, portafilter baskets, a coffee brush and puck screens, with a stainless steel knock box on the left side. IKAPE states that it is not compatible with Rancilio coffee machine portafilters.
What the station holds
- Espresso tamper and coffee distributor, stored on the station.
- Portafilter baskets and puck screens, kept off the bench.
- Coffee brush: it has a place on the station too.
- Knock box: stainless steel, on the left side. IKAPE states it is freely removable, so you can clean it easily.
The handle and the feet
The carry handle is new on this version. IKAPE states that it lets you lift the knock box easily without getting your hands dirty. Four non-slip feet sit under the base. IKAPE says they stop the station from slipping and from wearing the table, and that tamping on it is steadier and takes less effort.
Choose the right size
- Organizer with knock box: IKAPE sells one version for 51, 54 and 58 mm: De'Longhi Dedica and other compact 51 mm machines, Sage / Breville machines with 54 mm baskets, and 58 mm machines such as E61 group machines and the Gaggia Classic. It is not compatible with Rancilio portafilters.
- Metal knock box only: the stainless steel knock box on its own, without the walnut station.
How to use it
- Set the station on a flat surface within reach of the group head.
- Knock the spent puck into the steel box, never against the wood.
- Put each tool back in its place after use.
- At the end of each session, lift the steel box out, empty it and rinse it.
Materials and care
IKAPE describes the body as pure natural solid walnut and the knock box as stainless steel. Wipe the wood with a barely damp cloth and dry it at once. Do not soak it or put it in a dishwasher, and keep standing water off the wood. Wash the steel box separately and dry it before you refit it.
