Eight puck-prep tools in one size
The IKAPE V5 set is an espresso starter kit for puck preparation: eight pieces in one diameter, from the knock box to the puck screens. You choose the size for your machine, black or silver, and the V3 calibrated or the V4 palm tamper. The set contains no espresso machine and no grinder.
What is in the set
- V5 knock box: takes the spent puck after the shot.
- Bottomless portafilter with the original wooden handle: the one portafilter in the set.
- V3 calibrated tamper or V4 palm tamper: the version you choose; the set with the V4 palm tamper costs more.
- Gravity distributor: levels the coffee bed before tamping.
- V2 magnetic dosing funnel, non-embedded: sits on the basket while you grind.
- V2 WDT tool: stirs the grounds to break up clumps.
- Two espresso puck screens: IKAPE lists one old and one new version.

How to use it
- Set the funnel on the basket and grind the dose into it.
- Stir with the WDT tool until no clumps remain, then lift the funnel off.
- Level the bed with the gravity distributor.
- Tamp straight down with the tamper you chose, then lift it without twisting.
- Lay a puck screen on the bed, lock the portafilter in and pull the shot.
- Knock the spent puck into the V5 knock box and put each tool back in its place.
Materials and care
Wash the portafilter and the basket by hand, and keep the wooden handle out of standing water. Wipe the tamper and the distributor with a damp cloth and dry them, and rinse the WDT needles when they clog. Empty the knock box at the end of every session.
