This IKAPE portable coffee maker stand holds a portable espresso maker nozzle-down over the cup while the shot runs. The height sets anywhere between 13 cm and 19.5 cm, so it fits different cup sizes. IKAPE describes it as compact and space-saving, for use at home, in the office, and when camping or travelling.

A rigid, non-folding frame

This stand does not fold; IKAPE sells a folding stand as a separate product. The frame is solid aluminium alloy, and IKAPE states that it shakes and tips less than plastic stands during brewing. IKAPE's photos give the base plate as 4.72 × 6.3 in, about 120 × 160 mm.

Feet that stay put

The base sits on non-slip feet, and IKAPE states that they keep the stand firmly in place on tables, desks and outdoor surfaces. Its photos also show a ribbed rubber pad on top of the base plate.

How to use it

Set the stand on a flat surface and check that it sits level.
Loosen the knob on the pole, set the height so your cup clears the nozzle, and tighten the knob again.
Set the prepared machine in the ring holder, brew head down.
Place the cup underneath, start the extraction and let the stand hold the machine.
Lift the machine out before you open and rinse the basket.

Materials and care

The stand is made of aluminium alloy. It holds no coffee and no water, so a wipe with a damp cloth and a dry-off after a trip is enough. Keep grit out of the height adjustment, and do not load the stand with anything heavier than a portable maker and a full cup.
