A 51 mm basket for De'Longhi machines

This IKAPE filter basket is made of 304 stainless steel and fits 51 mm De'Longhi portafilters, with two ears or three. It is sold in a 2-shot version for 14–16 g and a 4-shot version for 18–24 g. Use it as a replacement De'Longhi Dedica basket or in the other 51 mm De'Longhi machines IKAPE names.

Which De'Longhi machines it fits

IKAPE states that the basket fits all 51 mm De'Longhi machines, with the 2-ear or the 3-ear portafilter. It names the EC680 and EC685 (both Dedica models), the La Specialista EC9XXX.M, and the ECP2XX, ECP3XX and ECP4XX series.

Choose the right size

2 shots, 14–16 g: the smaller dose, for a double espresso.
4 shots, 18–24 g: the larger dose, for two drinks at once or a bigger dose in one cup.

In IKAPE's photos the 2-shot basket is the shallower of the two. The 4-shot basket is deeper and has fill lines marked 2 and 4 inside the wall.

How to use it

Lift the old basket out of your portafilter.
Put the IKAPE basket in its place.
Dose within the range of the basket you chose, distribute the grounds and tamp level.
Adjust the grind after the first shot if it runs too fast or too slow.

Materials and care

The basket is 304 stainless steel. Knock out the puck after each shot and rinse the basket under hot water, because coffee oils that dry in the holes slow the flow over time. Dry it before it goes back in the portafilter, and soak it in an espresso machine cleaner when the holes start to darken.
