A fine mist against static clumping

The IKAPE electric RDT spray bottle puts a fine water mist on coffee beans before you grind them. A little water on the beans reduces static clumping in the grinder. IKAPE states that the mist is about 16 μm fine, almost invisible, and spreads more evenly than the droplets from a standard spray bottle.

Electric spray at the press of a button

One press of the button starts the mist and a second press stops it. IKAPE says the electric spray is more efficient than a hand-pumped bottle and keeps the mist uniform. The sprayer switches itself off after five minutes. It runs on a 150 mAh battery that charges over USB-C in about 40 minutes and lasts one to two hours of use.

Square body with a magnet

The square body sits flat on the counter, and IKAPE says it is easier to store than a round spray bottle. IKAPE also states that a built-in magnet lets you store it attached to your coffee machine. A silicone anti-slip ring, in orange or blue, gives a comfortable grip.

What goes in the tank

Fill the tank with mineral water or tap water. IKAPE states that purified water must not be used. Empty the tank when the sprayer will stand unused for a while.

How to use it

Fill the 20 ml tank with mineral or tap water and close it.
Weigh your dose of beans into a cup.
Hold the nozzle about a hand's width from the beans, press the button once to start the mist and press it again to stop.
Stir the beans so the mist reaches all of them, then grind straight away.
Empty and dry the tank if the sprayer will not be used for a while.

Materials and care

IKAPE states that the body is food-grade ABS, with a silicone anti-slip ring. Wipe it with a damp cloth and do not put it in the dishwasher. Tap and mineral water leave deposits when they stand in a fine nozzle, so empty the tank before a long break.
