One order for a whole espresso corner
This set covers puck preparation and knock-out in one order: tamper, distributor, WDT tool, dosing funnel, puck screen and knock box, with a bottomless portafilter as an option. In 51 mm it is a De'Longhi Dedica accessories set. The 53.3 mm and 58.5 mm versions are for Sage / Breville and for 58 mm machines.
IKAPE states that every tool has a fixed position, so the tools do not end up scattered across the worktop.
What is in the set
- Coffee tamper: presses the bed flat before the shot.
- Espresso distributor: levels the grounds so the tamper meets an even surface.
- Knock box: takes the spent puck.
- Dosing funnel: sits on the basket while you grind and keeps the rim clean.
- WDT tool: needles that break up clumps through the depth of the bed.
- Puck screen: laid on the tamped bed before you lock in.
- Bottomless portafilter: an option in five versions, each named for its machine. The versions without it cost less.
Choose the right size
- De'Longhi Dedica (EC685 / EC885) and other De'Longhi machines with 51 mm baskets. The portafilter options are a De'Longhi EC680 portafilter or a De'Longhi EC9xxx portafilter with a 4-shot basket.51 mm
- Sage / Breville machines with 54 mm baskets, including Barista Express, Barista Pro, Barista Touch and Bambino Plus. The portafilter option is a Sage / Breville 54 mm portafilter.53.3 mm
- E61 group machines and other machines with 58 mm baskets, ECM among them. The portafilter options are an E61 or a Sage / Breville 58 mm portafilter.58.5 mm
How to use it
- Set the funnel on the basket and grind the dose into it.
- Stir with the WDT tool until the clumps are gone, then take the funnel off.
- Level the bed with the distributor and tamp straight down.
- Lay the puck screen on the bed, lock in and pull the shot.
- Knock the puck into the box and put every tool back in its place.
Materials and care
IKAPE states that the set is made of aluminium alloy, 304 stainless steel and solid wood.
Wipe the wooden parts dry instead of washing them. Rinse the puck screen, the funnel and the basket after use. Wipe the tamper and the distributor with a damp cloth and do not soak them. Rinse the WDT needles when they clog, and empty the knock box at the end of a session.
