A milk pitcher you hold by the body

The IKAPE jug is a handleless milk pitcher in 304 stainless steel. With no handle, you hold the body and steer the pour with your hand. IKAPE states the design gives better control of the pouring speed, a more precise stream of milk or water, and more flexibility in latte art.

In IKAPE's photos a textured sleeve wraps the middle of the body, where the hand goes. On the silver jug the sleeve is black; on the coloured jugs it is a shade of the body colour.

The hawk spout

IKAPE gives the jug a hawk spout with double curved deflector grooves, and states that the sharp spout releases the milk fully, which makes cappuccino and latte making easier. The body is shiny and smooth, with no mechanical weld marks.

Choose the right size

500 ml (17 oz): the smaller of the two, for a single milk drink.
600 ml (20 oz): more headroom, for a larger cup or two drinks poured in sequence.

Both capacities come in black, dark green, light green, silver and white at the same price.

How to use it

Fill with cold milk to about the base of the spout.
Hold the jug by the body and keep a cloth to hand.
Set the wand tip just under the surface, open the steam and let the milk turn.
Lower the tip as the milk warms, and close the steam before the jug gets too hot to hold.
Tap, swirl and pour, then rinse the jug straight away.

Materials and care

The jug is 304 stainless steel with a smooth body. With no handle, your hand is on the body while the milk heats, so keep a cloth ready as the milk nears temperature. Rinse the jug under hot water as soon as you have poured, wash it by hand, and keep abrasive powders away from the coloured finishes.
