A tamper, a distributor and a box to keep them on
This IKAPE coffee tamper and distributor set contains the V3 calibrated tamper, a gravity distributor and a 7-in-1 ABS storage box, all in black. You choose one diameter for both tools: 51, 53.3 or 58.5 mm. The box sits next to the machine; you do the puck prep with the tools on it and stow the portafilter on it.
What is in the set
- V3 calibrated tamper: IKAPE's third-generation tamper, with a metal body and a built-in two-stage spring. IKAPE states that it presses with 13.6 kg (30 lb).
- Gravity distributor: IKAPE's gravity distributor for levelling the coffee bed before you tamp, in the same diameter as the tamper.
- 7-in-1 ABS box: seven fixed positions for the tamper, the distributor, a puck screen, cleaning brushes, a WDT tool and the portafilter. IKAPE states that it takes 51, 54 and 58 mm portafilters, and describes the ABS as sturdy and durable.

How to use it
- Grind into the basket and knock the portafilter once to settle the bed.
- Set the distributor on the basket and turn it until the surface is level.
- Press the tamper straight down, then lift it off without twisting.
- Stand both tools back in their positions on the box and stow the portafilter on it.
Materials and care
IKAPE describes the tamper as made of metal and the box as ABS.
Wipe the tamper and the distributor with a damp cloth and dry them. Do not soak the tamper or put it in a dishwasher, because the spring sits inside it. IKAPE states that the box can be rinsed directly under the tap; keep it away from boiling water.
