A brush for the grinder and the bar

This IKAPE coffee grinder brush sweeps dry grounds out of the grinder, off the portafilter basket and off the counter. The bristles are PBT with moderate hardness, the handle is polished walnut, and a storage bag comes with it. Brushing dry grounds away first leaves less for a damp cloth to smear.

Where it is used

The grinder: the chute and the places where ground coffee collects after a dose.
The portafilter and basket: the rim and the basket after knocking out the puck.
The tamper and the tamping mat: loose grounds on the base of the tamper and on the mat.
The machine surface: grounds that land on the outside of the espresso machine.
The bar counter: the worktop around the grinder and the machine.

How to use it

Brush dry grounds away before you reach for a cloth.
Sweep the grinder chute after each dose, working towards the opening.
Brush the basket rim after knocking out the puck, and the base of the tamper after tamping.
Tap the brush out over the knock box, then hang it by its cord.

Materials and care

The bristles are PBT, which IKAPE states gives the brush a longer life, and IKAPE describes their hardness as moderate. IKAPE states that the handle is polished in several stages to a smooth surface that is comfortable to hold.

Keep the walnut handle out of water as far as you can. Rinse the bristles only when they are oily, shake the brush out and let it dry hanging by the cord. Do not put it in the dishwasher and do not leave it soaking.
