A mirror for the front of the water tank
This Gaggia Classic water tank mirror is a thin, flexible acrylic (plexiglass) mirror, 1 mm thick, for the front face of the water tank. It fits the Gaggia Classic Pro, Evo, E24 and RI9403, and other Gaggia Classic models built like the machine shown in the photos.
It covers the front of the tank. The tank is hidden behind it, and a cup on the drip tray is reflected in the mirror.
The mirror is 188 mm wide along its straight top edge and 140 mm tall. That top edge lines up with the top edge of the tank, centred left to right. A notch at the bottom centre, 77 mm wide and 11.5 mm deep, clears the recess at the foot of the tank front; the lower part sits behind the drip tray.
Mirror only or with the water tank riser
The mirror comes on its own or as a set with our Water Tank Riser for Gaggia Classic. The riser is a 6.4 mm honeycomb plate in matte black PLA that lies under the tank and lifts it up against the machine's top plate, closing the gap of about 6 mm above the tank.
Used together, the riser closes the gap above the tank and the mirror covers the raised tank front, its top edge flush with the tank top: neither the tank nor a gap shows. The riser's front cut-out and the mirror's notch both clear the recess at the foot of the tank front.
How it fits
The mirror goes on the front face of the water tank with the straight 188 mm edge at the top, the notch at the bottom in the centre and the mirror side facing you.
Its back carries double-sided tape that can bond the whole surface. The adhesive is very strong, and a mirror stuck down all over is very hard to remove. We recommend peeling the tape backing only at the corners and sticking the mirror on by its corners.
A protective film covers the mirror face; peel it off before use.
Materials and care
The mirror is 1 mm flexible acrylic (PMMA, plexiglass) with a silver face, laser-cut to the shape of the tank front.
To clean it, wipe it with a damp cloth and let it dry.
The riser in the set is 3D printed in matte black PLA. PLA softens with heat, so wash the riser by hand in lukewarm water with mild dish soap and keep it out of the dishwasher.
