This is a 3-in-1 tamper station in solid beechwood. Three holes hold an espresso tamper, a coffee distributor and a portafilter basket, so the tools stay together while you work. It comes as a tamper station 58 mm for E61-type machines and as a 51 / 54 mm version for De'Longhi and Sage / Breville.

The nut sets the height

IKAPE states that a nut on the stand allows free height adjustment, which lets you press the coffee steadily and reduces wobbling, and that the tamper can stand nearby, ready to use. Four non-slip feet sit under the base. IKAPE says they stop the station from slipping and from wearing the surface, and make tamping steadier and easier.

Choose the right size

  • 51 / 54 mm: the version for De'Longhi Dedica and other compact 51 mm machines, and for Sage / Breville machines with 54 mm baskets.
  • the version for 58 mm baskets on E61 group machines, Gaggia Classic, Rancilio Silvia, Lelit, ECM and Profitec.58 mm

How to use it

  1. Stand the station on a dry, flat surface beside the grinder.
  2. Set the height with the nut until the portafilter sits steady.
  3. Grind, distribute and tamp straight down.
  4. Put the tamper, the distributor and the basket back in their holes and brush the wood clean.

Materials and care

IKAPE names pure natural solid beechwood for the station.

Wipe it with a barely damp cloth and dry it at once. Do not soak it or put it in a dishwasher, because wood left wet can swell and split at the edges of the holes. Let a rinsed basket drain before it goes back in.
